Content Creation Preparation – Four Steps to Maximize Your Content Creation Time

Up to now we have been looking at various facets of content creation such as Content Creation Ideas – how to create content for effective use in your online marketing , Content creation paradigm of a successful Internet Marketer and What is Web Content Creation? I therefore feel that it was time to look at Content Creation Preparation – and give you Four Steps to Maximize Your Content Creation Time.

When it comes to creating content for your blog, I am a big proponent of knocking out multiple posts in a single session. This method will maximize your time.

If you want to take advantage of your limited time, then this article will ensure that you are ready to create good content in the shortest time possible! In this article I will show you my personal list of how I go about my sessions for creating content.

The basic idea is to make yourself comfortable enough that you can sit down and create content for hours without distraction.

1. Good Computer Chair:

If you will be sitting with your desktop or laptop computer for any length of time I suggest you invest in a decent computer chair. After all you could be spending hours sitting down while you work upon creating content, so having a good chair will make a world of difference.

2. Proper Lighting:

I used to do my content creation late at night and since I didn’t want to turn the lights on in my room I was always squinting to see the keys of the keyboard when I had to glance at them. I fixed all of this by purchasing a desk lamp that clamped on my computer desk.

3. Drinks:

For my long sessions I have a few bottles of water within easy reach. I don’t want to have to get up for a bottle of water, so keeping a couple at my desk usually does the trick.

If you are a coffee drinker, don’t only bring not only a cup but fill up a thermos flask with coffee so that you don’t have to get up to get yourself a refill.

If you prefer Red bull or another energy drink then keep those on hand as well.

Even if you go the coffee / Red Bull route I suggest that you keep a couple of bottles of water within easy reach as well.

4. Getting rid of distractions:

You certainly don’t want to try to create 12 blog posts on a computer in the corner of your occupied living room unless you can zone out and cut out all the background noise and movement from your consciousness.

I prefer to work in silence although I know quite a few people who prefer having instrumental music in the background and I even know people who can write while listening to Eminem.

Just ensure you can tune out any aural distractions.

I also suggest that you disable all e-mail and instant messaging, and even your mobile phone.

These four suggestions will make sure that you completely maximize your content creation sessions.

We all live a busy life so that we ensure that we maximise our productive time.

Ultimately, if you have a comfortable chair in a quiet, well-lit room and you eliminate any need for getting up you will create content faster and better than you ever have before.
