As with everything there are always a few essential steps that can make all the difference between success and failure. With this article we are going to look at what I consider to be the six essential steps to achieve success with your PLR content.

There are many different ways to make money from PLR products but a lot of people don’t know where to start and need a step-by-step explanation of what is needed to be successful in this area of internet marketing.

There are essentially six steps to achieve success with your PLR content:

Step 1 – Research, development and preparation

Carry out research, development and preparation by performing keyword and market research to see whether there is a market to sell your target audience.

It is no good creating a brilliant product that no-one wants to buy, right? By doing this crucial step, you’ll also start to build the solid foundations for your internet marketing business.

Step 2 – Content creation

Create high quality content targeted to which your target audience will be presented. This means making your PLR product your own by adding valuable information, tips, etc. through the removal of out-of-date and inaccurate content to create or have created their own graphics, the addition of audio and video, etc.

Use the original PLR as a starting point but make it into a product that is bang up to date and something that you would want to buy yourself.

Step 3 – Construction of your website

The construction of your site has to include work on the sales process, such as your payment system, how the product is delivered and how you’re going to handle support issues, etc.

If you’ve never built a website before then you can outsource it but my advice is to learn that new skill or at least get an understanding of how it’s done so you’re not completely in the dark when you’re talking to your web designer.

Step 4 – Review of the sale process

Review your entire marketing and sales processes to ensure that they are infallible and that all your bases are covered before the product goes on sale.

Make a test sale so you are 100% sure that everything is working as it should.

Step 5 – Marketing

Now start focusing on the commercialization of the product with various methods to drive traffic to your website on autopilot. These include search engine optimization, press releases, blogs, forums, social networking, traditional offline marketing techniques and so on.

There are 3 basics to any type of marketing. They are:

1. GRAB their attention (snail mail envelope, email subject, PPC link, SERP… etc.)

2. DELIVER your offer (get them to read, understand, watch, pay attention to… etc.)

3. Get them to TAKE SOME ACTION (order your ebook, sign up for email, call etc.)
